Visiting Yellow Legs

This fall seems to be bringing in larger then usual numbers of Yellow Legs. Most often we observe Greater Yellow Legs in this area. This migration seems to be bringing with it good numbers of Lesser Yellow Legs as well. Over the last weekend there was a flock of a dozen or so mixed Lesser and Greater at the creek by the water treatment plant. Last week I observed a larger flock on the Bandon Marsh NWR. I have even seen a couple at the Redmond Pond area. It looks like fall migration will continue to provide some interest for a while to come.

Greater Yellow Legs - note the long bill

Lesser Yellow Legs - Note the relatively short bill

Have you ever considered publishing an ebook or guest authoring on other websites? I have a blog based on the same ideas you discuss and would love to have you share some stories/information. I know my subscribers would enjoy your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to shoot me an e mail.

We have discussed writing an e-book or two. It may take a while but they will be coming.
